Longest Exposures on Earth

Below are two of the photos shot by a German photography artist named Michael Weseley  for his project called" Open Shutter". The most remarkable thing is that the exposure of these two photos is probably the longest on Earth---3 years. (Between 2001to2004) The two photos were taken at the reconstruction site of Museum of Modern Art of New York.

One thing is that it's very interesting to see movement of things throughout 3 years in one still photo! The other thing is that I wonder what special kind of techniques and calculation Wesely has used and done. He 's been keeping it secretly to himself and he claimed that he could make an exposure for up to 40 years.

Simplest movie poster designs on Earth (2)

These movie posters are designed by the American graphic designer named Jamie Bolton. The approach is similar to Pedro Vidotto's  which I introduced last time but are of different personal style.

simplest movie poster designs on Earth

Sometimes, I think it is a real tough job to design a movie poster. It's about turning the whole complicated story into a picture with a tag line. They have to draw the attention of the audience but at the same time not too much or too little information should be given.

But actually, a movie poster can be extremely simple. Recently I found a very interesting series of poster designs made by a designer from Brazil named Pedro Vidotto. He did the posters with only extremely simple colors, 2D graphics and tag lines but which really speak for the movies.  They remind me that a good design is not necessarily be complicated or difficult.

They put a smile on my face. What about you?
