Grave of the Fireflies is a animation made in 1988 by Isao Takahata. It is a story about a young boy and his little sister's struggle to survive in Japan during World War II. Every time I watched this animation, I feel deeper how horrible war is. It really touches deep in my heart!

My Favourite Japnanese Animation (1)
I would like to share one of my favorite Japanese animation here which I watched recently in the Hong Kong Asian Film Festival---An animation made by Satoshi Kon, a very famous and influential animation maker.
It is about an old famous actress who told the story of her own during an interview. It is an extremely simple love story but with great storytelling. When I watched the movie, it felt like I was there, going back into the character's memory. And most important thing is that, it moved me! Great soundtracks. A must-see movie by Satoshi Kon.

My Favorite Directors (1)
When talking about my favorite directors, Steven Spielberg must be one of them. He is full of imagination and creativity. And he is also good at commercial calculation. Although many people criticized that he is a boy who refused to grow up. Some even said his films are shallow. But who cares! He is now one of the most successful directors in the world. And after all, movies are about entertaining.
Below are my favorites of his works.
My Favorite Directors (2)
Stanley Kubrick is probably one of the greatest directors ever. His films genres are extremely wide, from horror to drama, science fiction to war. And the thing is that he could handle each genre well. The other I like him is that he was a really serious film maker that he cared about every detail of his film. Also, besides creating unforgettable scenes and stories, deep down he also criticized humanity without preservation.
I've only watched 3 of his works, and they are all my favorites.
